Hello,
This site will detail the science and practice of physical training for the Water Polo athlete.
What this entails is looking at the physical conditioning tools required for Water Polo whether that be on-land strength training or conditioning drills in the water.
Re-hab or more importantly pre-hab (injury prevention) exercises and programs will be discussed so that you can stay healthy and be able to train with the volumes needed to excel.
There are really no websites dedicated to giving good, complete and practical information on the physical needs and how to attain those needs for Water Polo.
That is all going to change starting today.
I am a professional physical trainer (strength coach) from Canada currently working in Europe. The past few years I have been working with professional basketball teams.
I have played Water Polo for many years at the highest level in Canada with international playing experience at the youth/junior level (I know it's not Hungary, Croatia or Serbia but we did make it to the 2008 Olympics).
Even though I never made it to the national team level, I did get the opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in Canada (many of these players have or currently play professionally in Europe).
I have also coached and referred Water Polo for many years.
I hope to share with you my unique perspective as a professional, practicing physical trainer who has also played this wonderful game.
Be Well,
